The Commander of the international Stabilisation Force (S-FOR)
troops stationed in Bosnia to uphold the strained peace
agreement said on Friday (11/7) that the arrest the day before
of an indicted war criminal in Prijedor was well within the
mandate of NATO to carry out the terms of the treaty.
In Washington, debate on the floor of the United States Senate
got heated on the subject of the US commitment in the Baltic
    region.
Conservative politicians are leading a drive to pull all
remaining US troops from the area when the agreed deadline
expires, and not be dragged into an open-ended commitment of
    peace-keeping.
